Undeterred by the setbacks, he persisted through five attempts, each time coming closer to his dream. With unwavering dedication, he delved into the intricacies of the examination, deciphering the nuances of question patterns and gleaning insights into the vast expanse of knowledge required for success.

The turning point came in his fifth attempt when he secured an All India Rank of 102, clinching IPS and his home cadre, Haryana. The arduous journey, filled with moments of self-reflection and growth, paved the way for Dr. Mohan to not only achieve his goal but also acquire a profound understanding of the examination’s demands.

Beyond the triumph of securing a coveted position, Dr. Rajesh Mohan’s post-selection focus has expanded beyond the intellectual domain. Emphasizing the importance of physical and mental well-being, he underscores the role of a healthy lifestyle in sustaining the rigors of a demanding profession.

TRAINING PHASE

Post selection, Dr. Mohan underwent training at the prestigious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), a crucible that shaped his transformation. Divided into three phases, the training encompassed a foundational course at LBSNAA, 11 months of Phase 1 at the academy, and a practical stint in various districts for District Practical Training (DPT).

“The rigorous training included an independent charge of a police station, state academy visits, and attachments with key administrative offices, fostering a holistic understanding of the responsibilities that come with the badge,” the officer shared with Indian Masterminds.

CO-AUTHORED A BOOK

In his newfound role, Dr. Rajesh Mohan draws upon his medical background to contribute to society in multifaceted ways. Having co-authored a book on ethics titled ‘ETHICS Made Easy: A Unique Approach to GS Paper-IV’, he shares his insights with the aim of guiding future aspirants.
