How did a 22-year-old crack UPSC without any coaching and become an IAS officer? Meet Ananya Singh, the self-study prodigy who also shines on Instagram!
Indian Masterminds Stories

Ananya Singh, from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, cracked the UPSC Civil Services Exam at just 22, bagging an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 51 on her first try. While most her age were figuring out college life, Ananya was charting her way to becoming an IAS officer—without even attending coaching classes!

Ananya has always been a high achiever. She scored a stellar 96% in her high school exams and an even more mind-blowing 98.25% in her 12th grade. Education wasn’t just a task for her—it was a passion. Her family supported her love for books, but Ananya always knew she wanted more than just good grades.

NO COACHING? NO PROBLEM!

After finishing school, Ananya joined Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) at Delhi University to study Economics. At the same time, she started prepping for UPSC—no coaching, just self-study. Sounds risky, right? But Ananya was confident in her method. She made a habit of studying for eight hours daily, no matter what.

Her secret weapon? Writing. After her prelims, Ananya wrote essays every single day to sharpen her skills for the final exam. The hard work paid off when she nailed the UPSC exam in one go! She is currently posted as SDM Tehatta, West Bengal.

BEAUTY, BRAINS, AND INSTAGRAM FAME

If you think Ananya is all about books, think again! She’s also a social media sensation. With 45.7K followers on Instagram, Ananya is known for her style and grace. Her followers love how she balances the serious job of an IAS officer with her love for fashion. Whether she’s rocking a traditional saree or a chic modern outfit, Ananya’s fans can’t get enough of her.

Her Instagram is a blend of motivational posts, candid moments, and style inspiration, making her a favourite among young aspirants and fashion enthusiasts alike. “Beauty with Brains” couldn’t be a better description!

SELF-MADE SUCCESS

What makes Ananya’s journey even more inspiring is how she relied on self-study rather than expensive coaching classes. Her advice? Consistent study hours, goal-setting, and sticking to a daily routine. While many rush to join coaching centers, Ananya’s story shows that self-study can take you just as far—if not further!

Today, Ananya isn’t just an IAS officer—she’s a role model. Her story proves you don’t need coaching centers, shortcuts, or luck. All you need is a plan, a little discipline, and belief in yourself.
