After losing Weight, This Officer Is Now Motivating Others For Fitness & Health

Indian Masterminds Stories

He tried many times to lose weight, but couldn’t continue for more than one or two months. He loved eating food; eating one medium pizza with some garlic bread and soft drinks at one time was not a big deal for him. Then came a time when increased body weight led to bad health. That was it. He made up his mind to not give up and reach his goal anyhow. There has been no looking back since then. He lost more than 40 kgs just by walking and controlling his diet.
We are talking about IPS officer Mr. Jitendra Mani Tripathi, who is currently serving as Deputy Director of the Delhi Police Academy. Mr. Tripathi was never a thin person. However, when his wife was diagnosed with cancer, he gained 15-20 kgs more. After her death, while he had to deal with his grief, he also had the responsibility of his kids. His obesity led to bad health and became alarming.

“I was about to touch my 50s, and all my vitals—cholesterol, BP, sugar, and, of course, weight were at dangerous levels. My waistline was 46, and my weight was around 130 kg. Doctors showed their concerns and asked me to take care of my health. This hit me, and I decided that it was high time that I took this seriously,” Mr. Tripathi told Indian Masterminds.

He decided to cut down on his diet and started walking at least 2000 steps a day. Slowly, he reached 12,000 and then 20,000 a day. No matter what, he never skipped this, and with a bit of body weight exercise, he reached around 80 kg.

In this video interview, Mr. Tripathi shares his weight loss journey and the problems he faced on the way.
