This time we hold a conversation with the District Collector of East Garo Hills of Meghalaya, Mr. Swapnil Tembe, somebody who is continuously lighting up the path for thousands of children through education and exposure and bringing them into the mainstream culture of the country.

Officer of the 2015 batch, Assam cadre, Mr. Swapnil Tembe is amongst those who believe that education wields the power that brings about social change in the world. Grown-up in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Tembe has always been ambitious and hardworking.
His journey began from being an engineer to becoming a teacher and finally took him on the path to Civil services, something that he does not consider a job, but does out of his love for people.
Posted in one of the most backward districts of the country, Mr. Tembe is refurbishing educational institutions and bringing the light of education in little children’s lives through various initiatives such as Project ‘STAR’ and Super 30.
In an exclusive conversation with Indian Masterminds, Mr. Tembe talks about his initiatives, the degraded condition of the North East compared to other regions of India, and his personal interests.
