5 IAS transferred by the Maharashtra govt

The Maharashtra government has issued transfer orders for 5 senior IAS officers. A notification in this regard was released on Monday.

The recent orders include the appointment of Milind Mhaiskar, as principal secretary of Forest and the Revenue department. The 1992 batch IAS officer is currently the Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada). He will replace additional chief secretary Manu Kumar Srivastava (1986) in his new posting.

During his administrative career Milind had served on various senior positions in the state government. He has been the secretary of Medical Education department and also handled many infrastructure projects including Metro.

Along with him four other officials also got new postings. Sanjay Khandare  of 1996 batch will take up the role of Chairman and Managing director of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limitedd. Prior to this he was the secretary of food and civil supplies department. Meanwhile, Collector of Aurangabad Uday Chaudhari (2010) has been transferred as deputy secretary to chief secretary in Mantralaya. AA Gulhane has been appointed as Chandrapur collector and KH Bagate will take the charge as the CEO of Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi.  Earlier, Gulhane was working as the project manager of Jalswaraj Project.

Maharashtra is one of worst hit state by the pandemic triggered by Covid-19. According to the official data 5,24, 513 people has been tested positive by the virus and 18,050 have been dead because of this virus. Around 1, 48, 042 cases are still active in the state.

In the wake of Corona crisis many senior IAS officers including Ex- BMC Chief Praveen Pardeshi has been transferred by the Uddhav Thackeray government.
