1997 batch IAS officer IAS Subodh Kumar Singh has now been appointed to the post of Additional Secretary Food and Public Distribution at the Centre, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has issued an order for the promotion of Subodh Kumar Singh. However, his department will remain the Civil Supplies Department as before. Along with Subodh Kumar Singh, many other IAS officers have been given new postings and new responsibilities.
It is noteworthy that that earlier in October itself, apart from Subodh Singh, the central government had empaneled Niharika Barik as additional secretary. He was then Joint Secretary in the Civil Supplies Department. Now he has been promoted as Additional Secretary in the same department. Let us tell you that right now Niharika is on a long vacation.
