A 1992 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, Vineet Joshi, who was heading the National Testing Agency, has been appointed as the new chief secretary of the northeastern state rocked by violence lately.
He replaces Dr Rajesh Kumar, who was given a six-month extension in December.
According to the orders issued by the Governor of Manipur, “On return from Central Deputation, the Governor of Manipur is pleased to appoint Dr Vineet Joshi as chief secretary (Finance/IT/Cabinet/Planning), Government of Manipur. ”
IAS Joshi has also been given additional responsibilities of Resident Commissioner, Manipur Bhawan, and Chief Vigilance Commissioner, Manipur.
