1988 batch IAS officer Arvind Kumar has been appointed as new Advisor to CM Yogi Adityanath. He is an ACS rank officer.
Kumar retired as the infrastructure and industrial development commissioner on February 28, 2023. His last month of service was spent in organising the Global Investors Summit. Among other posts, he has served as additional chief secretary in the power department till he was moved to the industrial development department in February 2021.
In May 2022, he was appointed the infrastructure and industrial development commissioner. His appointment as advisor to CM is a temporary post created for a period of 11 months till February 29, 2024.
He played an important role in bringing investment in UP and making the Global Investors Summit a success. Through this summit, the state has received investment proposals worth Rs 33.50 lakh crore.
