The state government of Uttar Pradesh appointed New Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar additional responsibility as Chairman of the Pradeshiya Industrial & Investment Corporation of Uttar Pradesh (PICUP) in a small bureaucratic shift. It should be observed that Sanjeev Kumar Mittal’s appointment as board chairman last year left the chairman’s position vacant.
ACS, IIDC, Infrastructure & Industries Development, IT and Electronics department, and NRI department are the present positions held by Kumar, an IAS officer from the 1988 batch. His retirement date is designated for February 2023.
The Department of Energy and the Department of Additional Sources of Energy have been assigned additional responsibility by ACS, Home, Awanish Kumar Awasthi. Since the current IIDC Arvind Kumar’s charge was transferred from the position in February 2021, the position hasn’t had an ACS.
Awasthi, an IAS official from the 1987 batch who will retire in August 2022, is already in charge of home, confidential, visa and passport, vigilance, religious affairs, jail administration and reform, and CEO of UPEIDA and UPSHA.
Ranjan Kumar, an IAS officer from the 2000 batch who is currently the Secretary for the Department of Urban Development, has also been given the additional duty of Mission Director for the State Mission Directorate – AMRUT.
