Ten IAS officers of the 2009 batch from the Chhattisgarh cadre have disclosed their assets to the Central Government, revealing a wide mix of urban and rural properties. Several of these assets were acquired through loans or savings, while some were inherited or gifted.
Here’s a detailed account of their declared immovable properties:
Mr. Avnish Kumar Sharan owns a residential plot at Kachna, Raipur, currently valued at Rs. 85 lakh. The plot was purchased using a mix of loan and personal savings.
Dr. Priyanka Shukla has a 3BHK house in Lucknow, bought in 2021 for Rs. 72 lakh. Its current market value is Rs. 95 lakh, with the property held under family co-ownership.
Mr. Saurabh Kumar jointly owns an inherited plot of land in Lucknow valued at Rs. 50 lakh. Additionally, he possesses a residential plot at Serikheri in Raipur worth Rs. 16.39 lakh, acquired from the Housing Board.
Ms. Kiran Kaushal holds several properties: a house in Lalpur, Raipur bought in 2011 for Rs. 22 lakh (now valued at Rs. 60 lakh), and another house in Lalpur worth Rs. 75 lakh, purchased by her husband prior to marriage. She also co-owns a house in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh, bought in 1995 for Rs. 15 lakh (current value Rs. 1.93 crore), gifted to her husband by his mother. The Hoshangabad house generates an annual income of Rs. 18 lakh. Another property in her name in New Rajendra Nagar, Raipur was bought in 2022 for Rs. 49.50 lakh (presently valued around Rs. 50 lakh) and earns Rs. 17.40 lakh annually. Additionally, she inherited a house in New Shanti Nagar, Raipur, originally bought in 1991 for Rs. 1.90 lakh and now worth Rs. 75 lakh.
Mr. K.L. Chauhan owns a 3200 sq ft residential plot in Sakri, Bilaspur, valued at Rs. 65 lakh. He also has a house in Amasivani, Raipur worth Rs. 4.15 lakh and a 3600 sq ft residential plot in Serikheri, Raipur, worth Rs. 40 lakh (acquired through the Housing Board).
Mr. K.D. Kunjam has inherited residential property and about 6 acres of land in Narharpur, Kanker, worth Rs. 20.75 lakh, yielding an income of Rs. 1.60 lakh per year. He also owns 3.5 acres of land in Beverati, Kanker, worth Rs. 8 lakh 80 thousand, generating Rs. 50,000 annually. In Raipur, he owns a 2505 sq ft house in Dunda valued at Rs. 75.80 lakh. His wife possesses 1.5 acres of land in Beverati worth Rs. 4.15 lakh, with an annual income of Rs. 20,000.
Mr. Sunil Kumar Jain holds a flat in Bilaspur, bought in 2005 for Rs. 5.5 lakh (now worth Rs. 30 lakh), generating an income of Rs. 1.32 lakh annually. He also owns a house in Nava Raipur, purchased in 2009 for Rs. 17.48 lakh (now valued at Rs. 45 lakh), earning Rs. 70,000 annually. Additionally, he has a 3600 sq ft plot in Serikheri, Raipur, purchased for Rs. 14.53 lakh, currently valued at Rs. 40 lakh.
Mr. Tamboli Ayajaz Fakirbhai has inherited land in Pune district, Maharashtra, worth Rs. 55 lakh, generating Rs. 1.80 lakh annually. He owns a 4000 sq ft residential plot in Serikheri, Raipur, bought in 2017 for Rs. 17.20 lakh (now worth Rs. 27 lakh), and a plot in Nava Raipur, acquired in 2020 for Rs. 42.44 lakh (current value Rs. 48 lakh).
Mr. Bipin Manjhi owns a house in Rohinipuram, Raipur, bought in 2005 for Rs. 8.5 lakh and currently worth Rs. 30 lakh. He had availed a loan to purchase this property.
The declaration highlights a diverse portfolio of urban and rural holdings among these officers, with many relying on loans and family contributions for their acquisitions.
