New Delhi: In a significant development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of several officers for appointment to Joint Secretary or equivalent positions at the Centre. This decision was made on Wednesday, 5th March 2025.
The empanelment includes 11 officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and one officer from the Central Secretariat Service (CSS). These officers are set to take on critical roles in the central government, contributing to administrative reforms and governance.
The following officers have been empanelled:
- Avinash Champawat (IAS: 2003: Chhattisgarh)
- Kangale Reena Babasaheb (IAS: 2003: Chhattisgarh)
- Anbalagan P (IAS: 2004: Chhattisgarh)
- Alarmelmangai D (IAS: 2004: Chhattisgarh)
- Saket Kumar (IAS: 2005: Hyderabad)
- Aravind Agrawal (IAS: 2007: Odisha)
- Parveen Kumar Thind (IAS: 2007: Punjab)
- Dusmanta Kumar Behera (IAS: 2007: Hyderabad)
- Prabhakar (IAS: 2007: Sikkim)
- Vinod Kumar Suman (IAS: 2007: Uttar Dinajpur)
- Suhas LY (IAS: 2007: Uttar Pradesh)
In addition, P T Bhutia from the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) (SSGSL: 2018) has also been empanelled for the position of Joint Secretary or equivalent.
This move is seen as a step towards strengthening the leadership within the central government’s administrative framework. The officers now await further postings as they prepare to take on pivotal roles across various departments and ministries.
