Seventeen officers and personnel of the Jharkhand Police have been selected for national honours in recognition of their bravery, dedication, and outstanding service. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced on Thursday that these awards will be conferred on the occasion of Independence Day.

The list includes recipients of the Gallantry Medal, the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, and the Medal for Commendable Service. Among the awardees is one Indian Police Service (IPS) officer.
Gallantry Medals for Acts of Bravery
Five personnel from Jharkhand Police have been awarded the Gallantry Medal for their exceptional courage in high-risk operations. The honourees are:
- Mr. D. Sang Baijan
- Sub-Inspector Mr. Vinay Kumar
- Head Constable Mr. Pramod Rai
- Constable Mr. Ved Prakash Mahato
- Constable Mr. Ramchandra Mahato
These officers were recognised for showing extraordinary bravery and presence of mind in the face of danger.
President’s Medal for Distinguished Service
The prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to:
- Havildar Mr. Kailash Kumar Shrestha
This medal is conferred on officers who have demonstrated consistent excellence, leadership, and dedication over the years in their policing careers.
Medals for Commendable Service
Eleven officers and personnel have been awarded the Medal for Commendable Service for their professional conduct, dedication to duty, and contributions to policing:
- Mr. Anuranjan Kispotta (IPS, 2011-batch)
- Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Manoj Kumar Rai
- Inspector Mr. Asit Modi
- Sub-Inspector Mr. Lamp Beam
- Assistant Sub-Inspector Mr. Mahendra Mahato
- Constable Mr. Vijay Thapa
- Constable Mr. Foreigner Manjhi
- Constable Mr. Ajay Kumar Dubey
- Havildar Ms. Ranjita Kujur
- Constable Ms. Pushpa Auraiya
- Constable Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh
Recognition of Service and Commitment
