Leh, Ladakh: The Union Territory (UT) Administration in Ladakh has issued a major order involving the transfer and posting of five police officers, including two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, along with the assignment of additional duties to two others.
As per the order, Vikas Kumar, who was previously awaiting orders of adjustment, has been posted as the Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic, UT of Ladakh. With this, he will relieve Altaf Ahmad Shah, Commandant of the IRP 25th Battalion, from the additional charge of the post. In turn, Altaf Ahmad Shah has been given the responsibility of serving as the Principal of the upcoming Police Training School, UT of Ladakh, until further orders.
Additionally, Nitin Yadav, who was previously serving as Deputy SP Headquarters in District Kargil, has been promoted to the position of Additional SP Kargil, filling an available vacancy. Syed Zaheer Abbas, also awaiting orders of adjustment, has been deputed to the Prison Department and appointed as the Senior Superintendent of Prisons, UT of Ladakh, in another available vacancy. Abbas has also been assigned the additional duties of Staff Officer to the Director of Fire & Rescue Services, Ladakh, and Staff Officer to the Commandant General, CD/HG/UTDRF Ladakh until further orders.
Meanwhile, Govind Rattan, who was awaiting posting, has been assigned to the role of Deputy Commandant, IRP 25th Battalion. In addition to this, he will also handle the additional charge of SP CD/HG/UTDRF Ladakh until further orders.
Furthermore, Anayatullah, currently the DySP Traffic in District Kargil, has been transferred and appointed as DySP Headquarters, District Kargil, replacing Nitin Yadav. In another key move, Asif Mustafa, DySP CD/HG/UTDRF in Kargil, has been given the additional charge of DySP Traffic, District Kargil until further instructions.
These administrative changes reflect the UT Administration’s ongoing efforts to streamline the operations of the police department in Ladakh and ensure efficient governance and law enforcement across the region.
