New Delhi— The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointment of Moona Yasmin, a 2013-batch officer of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS), as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development.
Her appointment comes under the Central Staffing Scheme, and she will serve in the role for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
Deputation Cleared by Department of Posts
Yasmin’s name was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Posts. In her new capacity, she is expected to contribute to the implementation and monitoring of key rural development schemes and administrative coordination within the ministry.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has instructed that she be relieved immediately from her current responsibilities to facilitate her prompt joining at the new post.
This move aligns with the government’s effort to place capable and experienced officers in key developmental roles, especially in ministries focused on grassroots welfare and rural upliftment.
