Bhopal: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Madhya Pradesh government has appointed senior IAS officer Dhananjay Singh Bhadoria as the new Divisional Commissioner of Jabalpur. The order was issued on Friday, just hours after Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s visit to the city.
Mr Bhadoria, a 2006-batch IAS officer, takes over a post that had been lying vacant since April 30 following the retirement of former commissioner Abhay Kumar Verma. Until now, Bhadoria had been serving as Commissioner of the Scheduled Caste Development Department and Managing Director of the State Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation.
Sanket S. Bhondve Takes Over Urban Administration
In another key move, 2007-batch IAS officer Sanket S. Bhondve has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Urban Administration and Development Department. Bhondve recently returned to the state cadre after completing his deputation in Delhi.
Following his appointment, Chief Minister’s Secretary Sibi Chakraborty will be relieved of this additional responsibility, though he will continue to oversee the Building Development Corporation.
Meenakshi Singh Gets Charge of Scheduled Caste Development Department
Meenakshi Singh, who currently serves as Deputy Secretary in the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, has been given additional responsibility as Commissioner of the Scheduled Caste Development Department, replacing Bhadoria.
Timely Move Amid Growing Concerns
The reshuffle comes amid concerns over administrative delays, especially in Jabalpur, where the commissioner’s post had remained unfilled for nine days. The latest postings are seen as an effort to streamline governance and strengthen the administrative framework at key levels.
With the appointment of experienced officers to critical roles, the state government aims to enhance efficiency in urban development, welfare programs, and regional administration.
