The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), under the Ministry of Communications, has nominated 30 officers from the Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) cadre for the upcoming Mid-Career Training Programme (MCTP). The training is scheduled to take place from May 5 to 9, 2026.
The Mid-Career Training Programme (MCTP) is a structured and mandatory initiative introduced by the Government of India to enhance the professional competencies of civil servants. It is conducted at various levels of an officer’s service tenure and is directly linked to career progression and promotions. The programme focuses on capacity building, leadership development, policy formulation, strategic thinking, and technological awareness, equipping officers with the tools necessary for assuming higher responsibilities within the government framework.
ITS officers play a critical role in India’s telecom infrastructure, regulation, and policy implementation. Through this training, the selected officers are expected to deepen their understanding of evolving global telecom trends, public service delivery mechanisms, and digital governance models.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is the apex body responsible for formulating developmental policies for the growth of the telecommunication sector in India.
