Shillong: Four senior officers of the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) have been inducted into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and allocated to the Assam-Meghalaya Cadre.
The induction was notified by the Ministry of Personnel Public Grievances and Pensions on February 13.
Officers Inducted into IAS
The four MCS officers elevated to the IAS are:
- Aitinolin L Mawlong
- Rikse R Marak
- Mary Sonty N Marak
- Ibashisha Mawlong
With their induction, the officers formally join the premier civil service of the country and will now serve under the Assam-Meghalaya Joint Cadre framework.
Probationary Period
According to the official notification, the inducted officers will remain on probation until further orders. The probation period is a standard administrative process following induction into the IAS, during which performance and service conditions are reviewed as per cadre rules.
The induction of the four senior MCS officers is expected to strengthen administrative leadership in Meghalaya and the broader Assam-Meghalaya cadre, enhancing governance and service delivery in the region.
