New Delhi: Indian Railways will confer the 70th Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar–2025 on 100 officers and employees in recognition of their exemplary service and outstanding contributions to the organisation. The prestigious award ceremony will be held on January 9 at the India International Convention & Expo Centre (Yashobhoomi).
High-Level Ceremony at Yashobhoomi
The awards will be presented by Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw. The ceremony will also be attended by Ministers of State V. Somanna and Ravneet Singh, Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar, Members of the Railway Board, and General Managers of various Railway Zones and Production Units.

100 Awardees Selected Across Multiple Categories
A total of 100 railway officers and employees have been selected for the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar–2025, representing a broad spectrum of achievements across the Indian Railways ecosystem. The awards recognise excellence in:
- Innovation and process improvement
- Operational efficiency

- Revenue augmentation and vigilance
- Timely execution of major projects

Innovation and Process Excellence
Seventeen officers and employees will be honoured for introducing innovations, improved processes, and procedural reforms that enhanced productivity, optimised resource utilisation, and led to significant cost reductions for the Railways.
Acts of Courage and Selfless Service
Twenty-two railway personnel will be recognised for exceptional courage and selfless acts, performed at great personal risk, to protect human lives and railway property. These acts underscore the dedication of frontline railway staff working in challenging and hazardous conditions.
Revenue Augmentation and Vigilance
Fourteen officers and staff members will receive awards for their contributions to revenue enhancement and vigilance efforts. Their work includes initiatives to curb ticketless travel, prevent theft, and check other malpractices, strengthening financial discipline within the Railways.
Excellence in Operations, Safety, and Asset Maintenance
Nineteen employees will be honoured for their outstanding performance in operations, safety management, asset maintenance, and protection of railway infrastructure, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted train services.
Timely Completion of Major Projects
Sixteen officers and employees will be recognised for completing major railway projects within record timelines, significantly contributing to infrastructure development, capacity enhancement, and network expansion.
Outstanding Performance and Sports Excellence
Ten awardees will be honoured for exceptional performance across diverse functional areas of Indian Railways.
Two sportspersons will receive awards for achieving national and international distinction, bringing laurels to Indian Railways through sports excellence.
Institutional Recognition: 26 Shields for Railway Zones
In addition to individual honours, 26 Shields will be presented to the best-performing Railway Zones across various categories. These shields acknowledge institutional excellence, teamwork, and overall performance at the zonal level.
Notable Contributions Recognised
The awardee list includes:
- Personnel who ensured safe and uninterrupted railway operations during major events such as the Mahakumbh
- Officers who played a crucial role in maintaining services during Operation Sindoor
Teams that introduced advanced Ballast Cleaning Machines in challenging sections, improving track safety, ride quality, and long-term maintenance efficiency
