The Uttar Pradesh Government has executed significant transfers within the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre. The reshuffle has seen several key officers being moved to new positions across the state.
In one of the prominent moves, 1989 batch Aditya Mishra has been appointed as the new Director General of Fire Services. Meanwhile, 2004 batch IPS officer Dr K. Ejilearassane has been transferred to take charge as Inspector General (IG) of UP-112, a vital position overseeing emergency services in the state.
Other notable transfers include:
- 2010 batch IPS officer Manoj Sonkar has been assigned the role of IG PAC Varanasi, a key position in the state’s law enforcement framework.
- Shagun Gautam, also an IAS officer of 2010 batch, has been posted as SP PTC Sitapur, where he will oversee policing in the region.
- 2011 batch IPS officer Rajesh Kumar Singh will now serve as Additional Commissioner of Police (CP), Kashi, an important administrative role in the Varanasi region.
- Devranjan Verma, also an IAS officer of 2011 batch, has been appointed as DIG Rule Manual, overseeing the formulation and implementation of police guidelines.
- 2015 batch IAS officer Aparna Gupta has been transferred to the post of SP HQ, responsible for handling various police matters in the headquarters.
- 2013 batch IAS officer Ashish Srivastava will serve as the new DCP Lucknow, a critical role in the state capital’s law enforcement.
- 2018 batch IAS officer Suraj Kumar Rai has been moved to the position of Commander of Meerut PAC (6th), overseeing the Provincial Armed Constabulary in the region.

These transfers are part of the Uttar Pradesh Government’s ongoing efforts to streamline the police force and enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement across the state.
