New Delhi: A. Robert J. Ravi, a senior Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer and current Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has been given a three-month extension as the CMD of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL). The extension is effective from July 15, 2025, to October 14, 2025, or until further notice.
The extension comes as part of a decision made by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) under the Ministry of Communications, allowing him to continue holding the additional charge of the CMD post at MTNL.
No Additional Remuneration During Extended Tenure
During the period of his extended charge at MTNL, Ravi will not be entitled to any additional remuneration, continuing his leadership responsibilities without any extra financial compensation. This move reflects the government’s approach to streamlined leadership in public sector undertakings, especially in key telecom institutions.
