Leh, Ladakh: Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman Vipin Kumar conducted a key review of Leh Airport on Wednesday, accompanied by Member (Planning) Anil Kumar Gupta. The visit underscored the strategic significance of the airport within India’s aviation network and focused on expediting key infrastructure works.
Focus on New Terminal and Operational Readiness
Chairman Kumar assessed the progress of the New Terminal Building and other major development projects currently underway. The team reviewed operational readiness and evaluated how the upgrades would improve passenger handling and safety protocols.
Strict Timeline for Project Completion
During the inspection, Chairman Kumar interacted with AAI officials and CISF personnel, stressing the need to speed up ongoing work. He directed teams to complete all infrastructure projects by October 2025 to ensure timely enhancement of airport capacity and passenger experience.
