New Delhi: India Nagoya Protocol compliance certificates have placed the country at the top of global biodiversity governance, according to an official report. India has issued the highest number of Internationally Recognized Certificates of Compliance (IRCCs), contributing over half of the global total. 

This achievement highlights India’s strong commitment to fair use of biological resources and benefit-sharing. It also reflects the country’s transparent systems and efficient implementation of biodiversity laws, making India a global leader in environmental accountability.

The Nagoya Protocol is an international agreement under the Convention on Biological Diversity. It ensures that benefits arising from genetic resources are shared fairly.
