Indian Masterminds Stories

‘Aavkalag Ar Lagdenar’ (Income Tax and Taxpayers), the first book on Income Tax in Rajasthani language has recently been released. The book is authored by retired Income Tax Officer Rajendra Singh Rajpurohit. The book was released by former Bombay High Court Justice Vineet Kumar Kothari in Mumbai on the occasion of Rajasthan Day in March this year. Then again on on the occasion of 447th year of Haldighati war in Udaipur on June 18, Mohanlal Sukhadia University’s VC Dr. Indravardhan Trivedi released this book.

Retired Income Tax Officer Rajendra Singh

Mr. Singh worked in various departments of the Government of Rajasthan and India from 1978 to 2018. He also served in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for 7 years. He retired from Mumbai in June 2018 as a member of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.

Speaking with media about the book he said, “When Rajasthanis are not sure that governance or administration can be done in Rajasthani language and do not feel proud to speak Rajasthani, then why should anyone give special status to Rajasthani language?” He started writing this book after his retirement to prove that administrative work can be done in Rajasthani language.
