2005 batch senior IPS officer of Karnataka cadre, Mr Abhishek Goyal has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on a deputation basis. The appointment is valid for the remainder of his central deputation tenure, which extends up to March 18, 2026.
He has been on central deputation since 2018.
Mr Goyal brings with him a strong academic and professional background. He holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Over the years, he has served in several significant positions in law enforcement and financial investigation agencies.
Prior to his new posting, Mr Goyal served as the Joint Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Hyderabad and was later elevated to the position of Special Director in the agency. His work in these roles has been recognized for its contribution to financial crime investigation and enforcement.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is one of India’s Central Armed Police Forces. It plays a vital role in safeguarding critical national infrastructure including airports, nuclear and space installations, metro systems, and large public sector undertakings, as well as select private sector enterprises. The force is also deployed for VIP security and disaster response.
With his extensive experience in policing and central investigative agencies, Goyal’s induction into the CISF is expected to further strengthen the organization’s leadership and operational capabilities.
