The latest transfer list includes several senior officers handling major administrative portfolios, while two IAS officers who were awaiting posting have now been assigned fresh responsibilities. One of them, Soumya Gururani, has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Shahjahanpur Municipal Corporation.

The reshuffle is being viewed as part of the government’s continuing effort to streamline administrative functioning across departments including IT, social welfare, rural development, agriculture, health, and urban administration.

Anurag Yadav Shifted from IT to Social Welfare Department

2000 batch IAS officer Anurag Yadav has been transferred from the IT and Electronics Department and appointed as Principal Secretary, Social Welfare and Sainik Welfare Department.

The shift is significant because the Social Welfare Department oversees multiple large-scale welfare schemes targeting weaker sections, pension programmes, and support for ex-servicemen.

1998 batch IAS officer Alok Kumar III, who currently serves as Principal Secretary, Planning and Programme Implementation Department, has been given additional charge of the IT and Electronics Department.

He is also serving as the nodal officer for Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious ‘One Trillion Dollar Economy and Zero Poverty’ campaign.

Ravi Ranjan Shifted to Health Department

2014 batch IAS officer Ravi Ranjan, who was serving as Managing Director of UP Electronics Corporation and UP Agro, has now been transferred as Special Secretary in the Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department.

His movement to the health department comes at a time when the state continues expanding public health administration and institutional delivery systems.

T.K. Shibu Given Additional Charge of UP Agro

2012 batch IAS T.K. Shibu, presently Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Commissioner Branch, has been given additional responsibility as Managing Director of UP Agro.

UP Agro plays an important role in agricultural infrastructure, agro-processing promotion, and state-linked agricultural initiatives.

2018 batch IAS officer Himanshu Kaushik, who was previously awaiting appointment, has now been posted as Managing Director of UP Electronics Corporation.

His appointment fills an important vacancy in one of the state’s major public sector technology-linked corporations.

2019 batch IAS officer Saumya Gururani, also awaiting posting until now, has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Shahjahanpur Municipal Corporation.

Her posting is among the most noted appointments in the current transfer list, as urban governance remains a major focus area for the state government.
