The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the continuation of three senior officers currently posted in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), granting them extensions on their central deputation tenure.
As per an official communication issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, the extensions aim to ensure continuity in key administrative roles within the PMO.
Extension for Additional Secretary Ashish Vachhani
Ashish Vachhani, a 1997-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, will continue to serve as additional secretary in the PMO. His tenure has been prolonged by two years beyond May 23, 2026, or until further directives are issued.
One-Year Extension for Two Directors
Two directors in the PMO—Parthiban P and Amrit Agrahari—have also received extensions, each for a period of one year.
- Parthiban P (IAS:2011:AGMUT) will remain in his role beyond June 25, 2026.
- Amrit Agrahari (IRS-IT:2011) will continue beyond July 9, 2026.
Both extensions are subject to further orders, as per standard government procedure.
