Ajay Kumar Bhalla Gets Additional Charge As Secy, Border Management

Senior IAS officer Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been given additional charge as Secretary of the Department of Border Management.  He is an IAS officer of 1984 batch and Assam-Meghalaya cadre currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). 

He will take the additional charge with immediate effect until a regular appointment is done or there is any other further order. Masters in Botany (MSc) from the University of Delhi, Mr. Bhalla is serving as Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) since August 23, 2019.

Prior to this, he has served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Ministry. He has also served as Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Director General of Foreign Trade, Additional Secretary of Department of Commerce, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Coal and Director (Ports) in the Department of Shipping.
