Anirban Ray, a senior IPS officer from the 1998 batch, was recently escorted out of NSCBI Airport and faced penal charges for his alleged misconduct towards police, airline staff, and airport officials. Reportedly causing a disturbance in the departure lounge, the officer, currently serving as the Additional Director-General (Provisioning) with the state police, was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Charges include voluntarily causing hurt (IPC 323), wrongful restraint (IPC 341), causing public mischief (IPC 505), and criminal intimidation (IPC 506).
