In a key appointment, Amal Kumar Chakrabarty has been selected as the next Director (Finance) of Troop Comforts Limited, a defence PSU, following a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on May 16, 2025.
Chakrabarty is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). With extensive experience in public sector financial management, his appointment is expected to bolster the strategic and financial operations of Troop Comforts Ltd, which plays a crucial role in supplying defence gear and equipment.
His appointment is subject to further approval and formalities by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Troop Comforts Limited (TCL) is an Indian state-owned defence company, headquartered in Kanpur, India established in 2021 as part of the restructuring and corporatisation of the Ordnance Factory Board into seven different Public Sector Undertakings. It is involved in the manufacture of life-cycle clothing, extreme cold climate clothing, mountaineering equipment, supply drop equipment, water storage equipment, tents and other products for the Indian Armed Forces and for civilian use.
