Vijayawada: In a significant administrative shake-up, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued transfer and appointment orders for 12 IAS officers, involving a major reshuffle of District Collectors and Magistrates across the state. The reshuffle, aimed at enhancing governance efficiency and service delivery at the district level, was announced via GO Rt No. 1676 by Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand on Thursday.
Key Collector Appointments
As per the official government order, several senior bureaucrats have been given new district responsibilities:
- Kritika Shukla, formerly Director of Intermediate Education, has been appointed as the Collector of Palnadu, replacing P Arun Babu.
- P Raja Babu, Secretary of APPSC, is now the Collector of Prakasam.
- Himanshu Shukla, Director of Information & Public Relations (I&PR), takes charge as Collector of Nellore.
- N Prabhakar Reddy, Joint Secretary in the CCLA office, has been posted as Collector of Parvathipuram Manyam.
- Nishanth Kumar, Director of Excise & Prohibition, becomes Collector of Annamayya.
- Dr A Siri, Director of Secondary Health, will now serve as the Collector of Kurnool.
Transfers and Reassignments
- Dr V Vinod Kumar, previously Collector of Anantapur, has been transferred to Bapatla.
- Thameem Ansaria A, Collector of Prakasam, is reassigned to Guntur, replacing S Nagalakshmi.
- S Rama Sunder Reddy, Commissioner of Rehabilitation & Resettlement, becomes the Collector of Vizianagaram.
- Kirti Chekuri, JMD of AP TRANSCO, has been appointed as Collector of East Godavari.
- O Anand is now Collector of Anantapur, while A Shyam Prasad has been posted as Collector of Satya Sai district.
The state government clarified that posting orders for other transferred officers will be issued separately.
Significance of the Reshuffle
This reshuffle is seen as a strategic move by the Andhra Pradesh government to align administrative leadership with development priorities in various districts. It is also intended to bring in new energy and leadership styles to accelerate the implementation of public welfare programs and improve governance outcomes.
