6 Andhra Pradesh IPS Officers Selected for President’s Police Medal, 10 to Receive Meritorious Service Medal

In a significant recognition of police service, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced prestigious service medals for police personnel across the country, with Andhra Pradesh receiving a substantial share of the honours.

According to an official release issued on Wednesday, six IPS officers from Andhra Pradesh have been selected for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, while 10 IPS officers will receive the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Overall, 960 police personnel from Andhra Pradesh — from IPS officers to constables — have been recognised this year, underlining the state’s strong representation in national police honours.

960 Andhra Police Personnel to Receive Service Medals

The official figures show that among the 960 awardees from Andhra Pradesh:

• 353 personnel will receive Distinguished Service Medals

• 607 personnel will receive Meritorious Service Medals

The award list includes officers from senior IPS ranks, district police leadership, specialised wings, intelligence units, anti-corruption branches, armed police units, and non-cadre officers.

Six IPS Officers Selected for President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service

The six IPS officers chosen for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service are:

• Mahesh Chandra Laddha

• GVG Ashok Kumar

• G Vijay Kumar

• S Harikrishna

• M Ravi Prakash

• SV Rajasekhar Babu

These officers have been recognised for distinguished and sustained service in senior policing and administrative roles.

Ten IPS Officers to Receive Police Medal for Meritorious Service

The IPS officers selected for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service include:

• Aake Ravi Krishna

• R Jayalakshmi

• Gopinath Jetti

• S Senthil Kumar

• Dr Shimushi

• Koya Praveen

• AR Damodar

• D Narasimha Kishore

• V Geetha Devi

The list reflects representation from intelligence, district policing, anti-terror units, and anti-corruption institutions.

Non-Cadre Officers Also Recognised for Distinguished Service

Several non-cadre officers at DSP and equivalent ranks have also been selected for Distinguished Service Medals.

These include:

• Nadella Balaji Maruthi Muralikrishna

• SR Rajasekhar Raju

• K Nagesh Babu

• Gopu Rajeev Kumar

Meritorious Service Medals for Additional Police Officers

Among officers selected for Meritorious Service Medals are:

• BV Ramesh

• Shaik Shakeela Banu

• K Eswar Rao

• K. V. Srinivasa Rao

• K Latha Madhuri

• Kareemulla Sharif

Recognition Reflects Broad Police Service Across Andhra Pradesh

Officials said the large number of honours for Andhra Pradesh reflects contributions made across:

• Intelligence operations

• District policing

• Anti-corruption enforcement

• Logistics and special operations

The award distribution also highlights recognition extending beyond senior IPS ranks to field-level officers and specialised personnel.
