In a recent development in Assam’s bureaucracy, three IAS officers have been given additional charges along with their existing roles by the government.
1995 batch IAS officer B Kalyan Chakravarthy has now also been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Home & Political Department. He is already serving as the Principal Secretary for Labour Welfare, Skill Employment & Entrepreneurship, Cooperation, and Culture Affairs Departments, as well as Chairman of the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-IV posts.
2004 batch IAS officer Arun Rajoria who is the Commissioner & Secretary handling the Agriculture, Information & Public Relations, and Printing & Stationery Departments, in addition to his roles as Agriculture Production Commissioner and Chairman of the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-III Posts, has been assigned additional duties as the Chairman of the Assam Silk Outreach Mission (ASOM).
Pabitra Ram Khaund (IAS-SCS: 2010), the Secretary of the Irrigation Department and the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs (Additional), along with his responsibilities as the State Prabhari Officer for Udalguri and Member of the State Level Recruitment Commission for class-III, will now also manage the portfolio of Secretary, Water Resources Department.
