In a recent administrative reshuffle, Jadav Saikia, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch (SCS), currently serving as the Secretary for Administrative Reforms & Training, Pension & Public Grievances Department, Assam, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary for the Power (E) Department. This move is aimed at strengthening the governance structure and addressing critical issues in the state’s power sector.
Meanwhile, Syedain Abbasi, an IAS officer from the Assam Meghalaya 1990 batch, who currently holds the position of Special Chief Secretary for Public Health Engineering, Water Resources, Irrigation, and Information Technology Departments, as well as Resident Representative for the Government of Assam in New Delhi, has been relieved from the additional charge of Special Chief Secretary for the Information Technology Department, Assam.
Abbasi, who also serves as the Chairman of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), will continue to oversee his other key responsibilities in the state’s administration.
