New Delhi: In a major push to strengthen grassroots education, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration of Bhadrak to upgrade educational infrastructure across 50 primary schools in the Dhamnagar constituency of Odisha.

This initiative, undertaken as part of MCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, involves a total investment of ₹5.10 crore aimed at creating better learning environments and fostering inclusive community development.

Comprehensive School Upgradation Under CSR

Under this CSR initiative, MCL plans to transform the 50 selected primary schools through extensive infrastructure improvements. Key areas of development include:

  • BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) Concepts: Implementation of innovative learning aids integrated into school buildings to enhance interactive and activity-based learning.
  • Safe Drinking Water Systems: Installation of clean and safe drinking water facilities for students to ensure better health and hygiene.
  • Enhanced Classroom Infrastructure: Modernizing classrooms with improved furniture, learning tools, and conducive study spaces for effective learning.

The project is designed to promote a holistic learning environment that nurtures “future-ready” learners while supporting the overall well-being of students.
