Ranchi: With the retirement of Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, the Jharkhand government has appointed IAS Avinash Kumar, a 1993-batch officer, as the new Chief Secretary of the state. A seasoned bureaucrat with multifaceted administrative experience, Kumar is widely regarded as one of the most trusted officers in Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s inner circle.
The Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms, and Official Language issued a formal notification on Monday confirming his appointment. Kumar will also continue to hold the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, as well as Resident Commissioner, Jharkhand Bhawan, New Delhi.
