The Bengaluru East Zone, which was previously under the leadership of an Additional Commissioner of Police, will now be managed by a Joint Commissioner of Police at the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) rank. B. Ramesh, DIGP of the Eastern Range, has been appointed as the new Joint Commissioner of Police for Bengaluru East, filling the vacancy left by the transfer of Raman Gupta.
In another major reshuffle, N. Sateesh Kumar, who was awaiting a posting, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP) at Headquarters-1. Meanwhile, B.R. Ravikanthe Gowda, who served as IGP at Headquarters-1, has been transferred as IGP of the Eastern Range in Davangere.
