Badaun district is set to witness a major industrial transformation with the approval of a new manufacturing and logistics cluster near the Ganga Expressway. The project is expected to improve connectivity, attract investment, and generate employment opportunities in the region.
The proposed Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC) will be established near the Ghatpuri interchange. The initiative is aimed at strengthening industrial activity and creating a modern business ecosystem in western Uttar Pradesh.
The cluster will cover nearly 269 acres of land in the villages of Ghatpuri, Aurangabad Mafi, and Kutubpur Thara. Its location near National Highway 21 and close proximity to the Ganga Expressway is expected to provide excellent transport and logistics advantages.
Rs 149 Crore Project Gets Initial Funding
The total cost of the project has been estimated at Rs 149 crore. Authorities have already released the first installment of Rs 52.16 crore to begin preliminary work and site development.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will oversee the development of the cluster. The authority is expected to soon invite proposals from private companies for construction, infrastructure, and operational activities.
The industrial cluster is expected to house manufacturing units, warehouses, and logistics facilities. Officials believe the project will bring large-scale investment to the district and create significant job opportunities, especially for local youth.
Land Acquisition Nearly Complete
Land acquisition for the project is progressing steadily. Around 450 farmers are part of the acquisition process, and nearly 96 per cent of the required land has already been secured through mutual agreements. The remaining acquisition process is currently underway.
