Barabanki: The government has approved the widening of four key roads in Barabanki, a move expected to enhance transportation and accelerate rural development in the region. The project, with a total estimated cost of over ₹3.35 crore, is being welcomed by locals as a Holi gift for improved mobility and infrastructure.

The road development initiative focuses on providing smoother traffic flow, better connectivity for farmers, students, and residents, and supporting the overall economic growth of surrounding villages.

Details of Approved Road Projects

The four major road widening projects sanctioned by the government include:

  1. Gazipur-Dariyabad to Pandeypurwa Road
    • Length: 1 km
    • Cost: ₹65.35 lakh
  2. Purbalavant to Mau-Devgunj, Subeha Road
    • Length: 1.5 km
    • Cost: ₹94 lakh
  3. Bandha Road via Subedar Ka Purwa to Kothari Goria Road
    • Length: 1.5 km
    • Cost: ₹94.06 lakh
  4. Purezoga to Gobre Ka Purwa Road

Benefits for Local Residents

According to State Minister Satish Chandra Sharma, the roads had been in poor condition for years, creating difficulties for:

  • Farmers transporting goods
  • Students commuting to schools
  • Local residents traveling to nearby towns

The construction work is expected to ease traffic flow, reduce travel time, and improve safety, directly benefiting the local population.

Boost to Rural Economy and Trade

Apart from improving transportation, the widened roads will enhance commercial activities and strengthen the rural economy. Farmers will be able to transport their produce more efficiently, traders will have better market access, and villagers will save both time and resources.

Minister Sharma emphasized:

“Roads are the lifeline of any region. These projects reflect the government’s commitment to holistic development and will provide direct benefits to surrounding villages.”

Government’s Commitment to Comprehensive Development

The Barabanki road widening projects underline the state government’s pledge for ‘samagra vikas’ (comprehensive development). By improving infrastructure in rural areas, the government aims to boost connectivity, enhance economic opportunities, and ensure safer, more efficient travel for citizens.

The completion of these roads will mark a significant step toward sustainable rural development and better quality of life for the people of Barabanki.
