Bengaluru: Shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) surged over 4.58% in today’s trading session after the company announced the payment date for its final dividend. The stock opened at ₹373.70 and touched an intraday high of ₹389.00, reflecting strong investor sentiment following the dividend update.

In a regulatory filing, BEL informed that the final dividend of ₹0.90 per equity share (representing 90% of the face value of ₹1) declared at the 71st Annual General Meeting held on August 28, 2025, will be paid on September 23, 2025, to all eligible shareholders.

Strong Performance Fuels Investor Confidence

The company has delivered an impressive 42.84% gain over the past six months, supported by consistent financial performance, strong order inflows, and robust demand across defense and electronics segments.

With a current market capitalization of ₹2.84 lakh crore, BEL remains one of India’s leading defense PSUs. The stock trades at a P/E ratio of 51.66, and the overall dividend yield stands at 0.62%, reflecting a balanced approach to growth and shareholder returns.

Dividend History & Payout Structure

Earlier this year, BEL also declared an interim dividend of ₹1.50 per share in March 2025, bringing the total dividend payout for FY 2024–25 to ₹2.40 per share (including the final dividend). This continues BEL’s trend of consistent and increasing shareholder payouts in recent years.

In FY24, the company had declared a final dividend of ₹0.80 per share and an interim of ₹1.40, totaling ₹2.20 for that year — indicating a year-on-year increase in total payout for FY25.

Outlook

BEL’s dividend strategy, coupled with strong stock performance, reaffirms its position as a stable and rewarding investment in the PSU space. The company is well-positioned to benefit from the government’s push for indigenization in defense manufacturing and increased budgetary allocations for defense procurement.
