As per an official exchange filing, the President of India has approved the re-appointment of Vikas Ramkrishna Kakatkar and Siva Makutam as Independent Directors on the Board of BEML Ltd for a term of one year, effective April 17, 2025, or until further orders.

Vikas Ramkrishna Kakatkar

Mr Kakatkar is a highly experienced professional with a rich background in law, business, and education. He holds degrees in Bachelor of Arts (Hons.), Bachelor of Law, and MBA from the University of Pune. His early career included roles in marketing at Kirloskar Consultants Pvt. He is a seasoned expert in semiconductor electronics and information technology, with a career spanning the full product lifecycle — from specification to silicon design and delivery.

Currently serving as a Senior Director at a leading chip design multinational, he brings deep domain expertise and leadership in product engineering. Shri Makutam has also contributed to public service, having worked as Principal Consultant to the Department of IT, Electronics & Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh during 2017–18.

His work currently emphasizes “Make in India” initiatives and the adoption of next-generation technologies to strengthen India’s tech ecosystem and semiconductor industry.
