BEML Limited, a prominent public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has announced securing a substantial contract from Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The contract, valued at approximately Rs 405 crore, involves the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of standard gauge metro cars, alongside personnel training and a comprehensive maintenance package for up to 15 years.
This contract is part of BEML’s ongoing contributions to urban transportation infrastructure, strengthening its presence in the metro rail sector. The project is in line with BMRCL’s efforts to enhance metro connectivity and improve Bengaluru’s urban transportation network.
The order further consolidates BEML’s role as a key player in India’s metro rail development, drawing on its expertise in manufacturing high-quality rolling stock. The company has previously delivered metro coaches for several major metro projects across the country, solidifying its reputation in the industry.
BEML shared the information in a regulatory filing on Thursday, confirming that this contract falls within its regular business operations.
