New Delhi: The first meeting of the reconstituted Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) was held today at the Teesta Auditorium, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Bhupender Yadav.
Attendance by MPs, Officers, and Hindi Scholars
The meeting was attended by distinguished Members of Parliament from both Houses, including Mr. Mithilesh Kumar, Smt. Maya Naroliya, and Smt. Kamlesh Jangre, along with eminent Hindi scholars. Senior officers of the Ministry, including the Secretary, Additional Secretary, and heads of offices under the Ministry’s control, also participated in the deliberations.

Minister Bhupender Yadav Emphasizes Promotion of Hindi
Addressing the committee members, Mr. Yadav stressed the importance of promoting and propagating Hindi in official work. He highlighted that Hindi is an effective medium of communication and urged officers and employees to use simple Hindi to ensure that the Ministry’s schemes and subjects are easily understood by the general public.
He also emphasized the role of personal example, stating:
- Officers should sign official documents in Hindi.
- Each officer should aim to make at least one comment in Hindi per month.
- Gradually, these steps would encourage the habit of working in Hindi across the Ministry.
Suggestions and Commitments
The committee members provided valuable suggestions for promoting Hindi in the Ministry and its subordinate offices.
Concluding the meeting, the Secretary of MoEFCC thanked the committee members and assured that appropriate action would be taken on the recommendations. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to making Hindi an integral part of its work culture.
