Bharuch: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects in Jambusar during a public event in Bharuch. The Chief Minister also distributed financial assistance to beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to inclusive development.
Speaking at the event, Patel highlighted that the upcoming Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar will create significant employment opportunities and strengthen industrial growth in the region.
Country’s First Bulk Drug Park Planned in Jambusar
The Chief Minister announced that India’s first Bulk Drug Park will be developed in Jambusar, marking a major milestone for Gujarat’s pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
He noted that after the establishment of the Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) and the LNG terminal in Dahej, the Bulk Drug Park will further accelerate industrial development in Bharuch district. The project is expected to attract investments and generate large-scale employment opportunities for local youth.

Crores Worth Development Projects for Bharuch
During the programme, Chief Minister Patel inaugurated and performed the foundation laying for several development projects worth crores of rupees in Bharuch district. He also handed over benefits under multiple government schemes to eligible beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister stated that the Gujarat government’s primary objective is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society, strengthening inclusive growth across districts.
Bharuch Emerging as ‘Chemical Capital’
Patel said that Bharuch has witnessed remarkable transformation over the years. Once a region with limited infrastructure, the district has now emerged as a key industrial hub. Due to rapid industrial growth, Bharuch is increasingly being recognized as a “Chemical Capital”, supported by major industrial infrastructure such as the PCPIR and LNG terminal in Dahej.
Inclusion in Surat Economic Region to Boost Industry
The Chief Minister further noted that Bharuch’s inclusion in the Surat Economic Region will create a more favorable ecosystem for industries. This move is expected to strengthen investment opportunities and provide new employment avenues for local youth.

Highlighting the state government’s development vision under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Patel said Gujarat continues to implement strong financial planning to ensure that welfare schemes and development projects reach every section of society. He added that the newly launched projects worth crores of rupees will play a crucial role in accelerating economic growth and improving the quality of life for the people of Bharuch district.
