Gandhinagar: In a celebration of Gujarat’s cultural and literary richness, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unveiled the “Gujarat Dipotsavi Issue Vikram Samvat 2081” on Saturday in Gandhinagar. The annual publication by the State Information Department showcases the vibrant legacy of Gujarati literature, art, history, and culture, further strengthening the state’s identity through creative expression.
At the ceremonial release, key dignitaries including MK Das (Additional Chief Secretary to the CM), Avantika Singh (Additional Principal Secretary and Secretary of Information and Broadcasting), KL Bachani (Director of Information), and Arvind Patel (Additional Director of Information), were present alongside other senior officials.
A Literary Treasure Trove for Vikram Samvat 2081
This year’s Dipotsavi issue serves as a literary delight, featuring a diverse range of genres:
- 27 research articles
- 31 novellas
- 17 humorous essays
- 11 plays
- 97 poems
The publication also includes 51 vivid photographs and illustrations capturing folk life, nature, and human emotions, enriching the reader’s experience with both visual and emotional depth.
Written by eminent Gujarati authors, the magazine aims to inspire readers while preserving the state’s cultural heritage and values.
Jagdish Panchal Takes Charge as Gujarat BJP President
In another significant development, senior BJP leader Jagdish Panchal officially took charge as the Gujarat BJP State President in the presence of top party leadership, including CM Bhupendra Patel, Union Ministers CR Patil and Bhupendra Yadav, and Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
Grassroots Leader with Organisational Strength
Panchal, a senior leader from Ahmedabad, is known for his strong organisational background and has previously served as a Cabinet Minister in the Gujarat Government. Widely respected within party ranks, he is seen as a grassroots leader who has deep connections with workers across the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi said:
