New Delhi, 3 July 2025 — The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, has approved Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for ten major capital acquisition proposals worth around ₹1.05 lakh crore. All projects fall under the Buy (Indian‑IDDM) category, reinforcing India’s commitment to domestic defence capabilities.
Boosting Mobility, Air Defence, and Inventory Systems
The approved proposals include Armoured Recovery Vehicles, Electronic Warfare Systems, a tri-service Integrated Common Inventory Management System, and Surface-to-Air Missile systems. These systems will enhance field mobility, strengthen air defence, improve logistics and supply chain control, and improve overall operational readiness.
Strengthening Naval Capabilities and Mine Warfare Readiness
To protect maritime assets, AoNs were granted for Moored Mines, Mine Counter-Measure Vessels, Super Rapid Gun Mounts, and Submersible Autonomous Vessels. This ensures better preparedness and resilience against threats to naval ships and merchant vessels.
Fully Indigenous, Fully Self-Reliant
All ten acquisitions are under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) framework. This ensures alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, boosting India’s defence-industrial base and advancing self-reliance in military technology.
