Class-Wise Distribution of Student Kits

As per official figures, 75,748 children of Class 1 and 2, 49,759 children of Class 3, 1,13,829 children of Class 4 and 5, 1,42,257 children of Class 6 to 8, and 1,01,815 children of Class 9 to 12 will receive the kits.
Each kit will be tailored according to the class requirements, containing school bags, stationery, pencils, erasers, notebooks, drawing materials, colors, and charts to encourage learning.
Monitoring and Implementation
For effective implementation, the Bihar Education Project Directorate has given the responsibility of supply, distribution, and monitoring of the kits to the District Program Officer (Primary Education) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The monitoring process will be managed through the MIS portal to ensure transparency.
District Education Officer Mr. Rajkumar Sharma highlighted that students from poor and economically weaker sections will benefit the most from this scheme, making education more accessible and affordable.
Strengthening School Libraries
Alongside student kits, the Bihar Education Project Council will also provide new books to the libraries of 75,286 government schools across the state. These books will cover a wide range of subjects including science, mathematics, historical events, novels, storybooks, and preparatory materials for competitive exams.
District Program Officer (Samagra Shiksha) Mr. Shiv Kumar Verma has instructed block education officers to ensure timely distribution of these books to schools for the 2024-25 academic session. This initiative will benefit both students and teachers in primary, middle, secondary, and higher secondary schools.
Administrative and Developmental Impact
These measures reflect Bihar’s commitment to equitable and inclusive education. By reducing the financial burden on families, strengthening school infrastructure, and enhancing access to knowledge resources, the government is taking a holistic approach to improve the learning environment in government schools.
