Patna: Students studying in Bihar’s government schools will soon have access to computers and digital learning tools, Education Minister Sunil Kumar announced on Tuesday. Following the formation of the new government, the Education Department has begun preparations to upgrade infrastructure, including the establishment of computer labs, tablets, and essential facilities in all schools.
The minister said that under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the state has witnessed significant improvement in its education system, reflected in the rising number of students enrolled in government schools.
Digital Platform for Teachers and Students
Sunil Kumar confirmed that Bihar is preparing to provide a statewide digital platform accessible to teachers and students from government schools. This initiative is aimed at ensuring digital education is available at every level and in every district.
Preparations are underway to set up labs, smart facilities, and tablet-based learning systems to strengthen digital literacy among students.
TR-4 Teacher Recruitment After STET Results
The Education Minister also announced that the TR-4 recruitment process will begin once the STET results are declared. Vacant post details have already been sought from all districts.
Teacher appointments are expected to begin after January, and the recruitment of librarians will be taken up only after the teacher recruitment cycle is completed.
1.09 Crore Children Receive Mid-Day Meals Daily
Highlighting the scale of welfare efforts, Sunil Kumar said that 1.09 crore children studying in government schools receive nutritious mid-day meals every day, prepared by 2.14 lakh cooks across the state.
The minister emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring food security and proper nutrition for schoolchildren.
Improving Education for Children with Disabilities
Bihar is also working on providing a better, inclusive education system for children with disabilities. The minister stated that the government aims to offer job-oriented education, ensuring that more youth become employable.
Specialized teachers will be appointed to improve the quality of education for students with disabilities.
