SJVN Limited Wins 3rd Prize in Swachhta Hi Sewa Pakhwada Awards 2024–25 by Ministry of Power

Recognized for outstanding cleanliness initiatives, community engagement, and sanitation worker welfare across 19 Cleanliness Target Units.

New Delhi: SJVN Limited has been awarded the Third Prize in the prestigious Swachhta Hi Sewa Pakhwada Awards 2024–25 by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, recognizing the company’s exemplary cleanliness and community engagement initiatives during the nationwide campaign.

The award was presented by Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power) at a ceremony in New Delhi and received on behalf of SJVN by Mr. Parvind Negi, Deputy General Manager (CSR).

Leadership Commends SJVN’s Commitment

Mr. Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, congratulated the organization and its employees, noting that the award reflects the company’s sustained commitment to cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and social engagement.

Mr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), highlighted that during the Swachhta Hi Sewa Pakhwada 2024–25 (September 17 – October 2, 2024), SJVN conducted extensive cleanliness drives, awareness programs, and community participation activities. Notably, this is the first time the Ministry of Power instituted awards under the campaign, making the recognition particularly significant.

Key Initiatives Undertaken

During the campaign, SJVN implemented several initiatives across its 19 Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs), including:

  • Cleanliness pledges and competitions
  • Plantation drives and awareness programs in local communities
  • Large-scale cleaning drives removing 83.26 tonnes of waste
  • Adoption of sites for long-term maintenance

Welfare Measures for Sanitation Workers

SJVN ensured an inclusive approach by conducting:

  • Health camps for sanitation workers
  • Distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits
  • Assistance in linking workers to Government welfare schemes

These measures contributed to employee welfare and strengthened the company’s community engagement initiatives.
