In a major administrative reshuffle, several senior IAS officers in Bihar have been assigned new roles. The Bihar government announced on Tuesday that Anand Kishore, Chairman of the Bihar School Examination Committee, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Finance Department. As per the General Administration Department’s notification, Kishore will relinquish his additional duties as Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department and Managing Director of the Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
Lokesh Kumar Singh, previously Secretary of the Finance Department, has been transferred to serve as Secretary of the Rural Development Department, with an additional responsibility as Secretary of the Tourism Department. Abhay Kumar Singh, formerly the Secretary of the Tourism Department, will now head the Urban Development and Housing Department while taking on additional roles, including Secretary of the Information and Public Relations Department and Managing Director of BELTRON and Patna Metro Rail Corporation.
Dipak Anand, who holds the position of Secretary (Expenditure) in the Finance Department, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary of the Labour Resources Department. Meanwhile, Shirshat Kapil Ashok will move from his role as Managing Director of Bihar State Road Development Corporation to lead the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited.
Additionally, Niles Ramchandra Deore, currently Managing Director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company, will take on the role of Special Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat Department. Dr. B. Rajendra has been relieved of his additional duties as Principal Secretary of the Labour Resources Department.
This reshuffle follows an earlier round of transfers on August 31, which included the appointment of senior IAS officer Amrit Lal Meena as Bihar’s Chief Secretary.
