The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by Nilesh Ramchandra Devre, Secretary of Tourism, to ensure a comprehensive and scientifically-backed system for accurate tourist data collection.

New Scientific Formula for Tourist Counting

Secretary Devre instructed that a detailed formula be developed after studying the existing tourist tracking systems in neighboring states. The aim is to establish a reliable, data-driven system for recording visitor numbers at Bihar’s key tourist destinations. Additionally, officials were asked to study best practices from other states and prepare detailed presentations to guide Bihar’s tourism initiatives.

Weekly Review Meetings to Monitor Progress

Secretary Devre directed that regular weekly review meetings be conducted every Monday to assess the progress of all tourism-related initiatives. Comparative presentations highlighting weekly achievements, photographs, and progress metrics will be mandatory in these sessions.

High-Level Hospitality and Adventure Tourism Expansion

To enhance high-level hospitality services, the possibility of providing four-wheelers for distinguished and eminent visitors was discussed, with instructions issued to the Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (BSTDC) to explore this initiative. The meeting also emphasized promoting adventure tourism near Karamchat Dam in the Kaimur district, with instructions to examine hotel and lodging options to accommodate tourists and enhance their stay.
